How do I book ToonHeadz for my event?

Booking is easy! Simply fill out our booking form, secure your date with a deposit, and pay the final balance one week prior to your event date. That's it — three simple steps and you're locked in!

How much does a caricature artist cost in Atlanta?

Prices vary depending on the type of event and the day it's being held. We have packages built around our most popular event options. A good range is $150–$200 per hour, which includes event security with 25+ artists, outranked professionalism in the Atlanta market, fast caricatures (some options as quick as 1–2 minutes), and your choice of caricature styles.

What is the minimum booking time?

How far in advance should I book a caricature artist?

We suggest booking at least one month prior to your event. With 25+ artists on the team, we're flexible — but if your event is less than 2 weeks away, additional booking fees may apply.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept card, check, and ACH payments.

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the event date. Please note the $100 booking fee (deposit) is non-refundable. On our end, we have never cancelled on a client because we have tons of artists on reserve. In the unlikely event we do cancel, your booking fee and full payment will be refunded plus an additional $100 for the inconvenience.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we carry insurance and can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI). If you need us additionally insured for the full year of the event, a service charge will apply.

Yes! We will match your theme to ensure we get you exactly what you need for your event. We are the party solution.

Will exaggerated caricatures offend my guests?

Accepted Answer

That depends on the mentality of the guests. Fun-loving crowds LOVE exaggerated caricatures because they draw people to the booth and get everyone talking. Mixing styles — one fun artist and one hilarious artist — gives guests options. Events perfect for exaggerated styles include college events, corporate events, weddings, and birthdays. None of our artists are trying to be offensive — we're here to give your guests a great experience!

What caricature styles do you offer?

Our 25+ artists bring unique styles ranging from cute and flattering to hilariously exaggerated. No two caricatures from ToonHeadz ever look the same. Want something light and fun? We've got you. Got a crowd that loves to laugh? We'll turn the silly up to 11.

What is the difference between digital and traditional caricatures?

Traditional caricatures are drawn on paper — the classic way caricatures have been done for hundreds of years. Digital caricatures are drawn on an iPad or other digital device, printed on the spot, and the artist displays their drawing process on an HDTV for everyone to watch.

How many caricatures can an artist draw per hour?

It depends on the style: Black & White takes 3–5 minutes per face (about 12–15 per hour), Color takes 5–7 minutes per face (about 8–12 per hour), and Speedy takes just 1–2 minutes per face (about 30–60 per hour). Multiple people on one page? Multiply the per-face time by the number of people. For example, 5 people on one B&W drawing takes 15–25 minutes. Note: Speedy caricatures are one person per page only.

Can guests request specific themes or poses in their caricature?

We can do themes, but it does add time to each drawing. We highly suggest theme requests only for smaller crowds. For larger events, logo prints are a better option — they still personalize the experience while keeping the pace up.

What is logo-branded paper?

Logo prints are a custom slogan or logo we print on each sheet of caricature paper ahead of time. That way, every guest knows exactly where they received their caricature — and it adds a personalized, professional touch to your event.

What do the artists bring with them?

Accepted Answer

We bring the artist, paper (logo paper if you added that to your event), protective sleeves for the drawings, drawing supplies, and our easel. We do not use a table because prolonged drawing on a table can hurt our backs.

Why do artists use an easel instead of a table?

So we can show your guests what we are drawing! Half of caricature is the entertainment factor. People love watching the drawings come to life in 1–5 minutes. An easel lets everyone see the magic happen in real time.

What setup do you need at my event?

We need 3 chairs per artist (1 for the artist, 2 for guests). We bring our own easels and supplies — no tables needed. For outdoor events, we need a covered area. We also offer tent rentals if needed.

What if more guests show up than expected?

Accepted Answer

There's a good chance we can extend the time on the day of your event — but it depends on whether the artist has another event after yours. We highly suggest booking the right amount of time upfront because same-day extensions are not guaranteed, and if available, rates are higher at $250–$300 per hour per artist.

Do artists take breaks during long events?

Artists may take a 5-minute break every 2 hours, but all of our artists want to get as many people drawn as possible. If you book multiple artists, there's always an artist working at your event — no downtime.

What is your rain or bad weather policy?

We always tell our clients to plan appropriately for weather and have a Plan B. We also offer tent rentals if you need tents at your event.

Do you provide frames for the caricatures?

Accepted Answer

We provide protective sleeves for all caricatures. If you need mats for your event, we can provide those for an additional $300 — just let our admins know when booking.

Do guests get to keep their caricatures?

Absolutely! Every guest walks away with their caricature in a protective sleeve. It's a one-of-a-kind keepsake they'll remember forever.

What is the best time to have caricature artists at a wedding?

We strongly recommend having us after the ceremony, exclusively for the reception. That's when people are more loose, relaxed, and ready to have fun — which makes for the best caricature experience.

What is the best time to have caricature artists at a party?

We recommend starting 30 minutes to an hour after your guests are scheduled to arrive. This gives everyone time to meet, greet, and feel relaxed before jumping into the caricature experience.

Guests are more than welcome to tip the artists, but it is absolutely not expected.

Do you do events outside of Atlanta or Georgia?

What if an artist can't make it to my event?

Accepted Answer

With 25+ artists on the team, the chances of not finding a replacement are extremely low. In the unlikely event we can't cover your booking, we will make it right.

Can I just send photos and get a caricature drawn?

Do you charge travel fees?

Travel fees only apply for events more than 1.5 hours outside of Atlanta. For most events in the metro Atlanta and surrounding areas, there's no travel fee.

Yes! We are perfect additions for school events and fundraisers. The guests not only get to see our artists render out the drawings live, but they also get a perfect take-away to remember their experience.

There are 3 big factors: how many caricatures are drawn, the length of time you want us there, and something unique and fun for your guests. Think about which is most important and pick your package. Yes! If you have multiple bookings, we offer discounts. We also offer discounted hourly rates based on the number of artists at an event. For example, events with 10-15 caricature artists may have rates cheaper than $150 per hour per artist.

Caricature is an interactive experience. People are still talking about their caricatures years later! Photo booths are quick, but the experience is nothing to rave about. With ToonHeadz, there's always a line for the caricature artists because of the hype. We have full-time artists and outstanding client relationships — most clients have us back every year.

Our advance bride and groom portrait is a custom-drawn caricature of the happy couple, created ahead of your wedding day. We need to receive your photos 2 weeks prior to your event date to ensure the artist can draw, print, and deliver on your special day.
